Mental Health Awareness Week – 8-14 May

The Mental Health Foundation is behind Mental Health Awareness Week, from 8-14 May 2017, and this year is going to look at mental health from a new angle. Rather than ask why so many people are living with mental health problems, it will seek to uncover why too few people are thriving with good mental health. Why not use some of our resources and publications to help promote awareness in your organisation? Or use our animated films, Working with Anxiety and Let’s Talk to help colleagues thrive in their mental health.

Good Work and Mental Wellbeing Lab

This summer, Fresh Thinking Labs and Mindful Employer will launch the Good Work and Mental Wellbeing Lab, bringing together employers from public and private sectors in tackling these challenges by sharing their experiences and insights as ‘critical friends’, and developing a community of best practice from which new and innovative solutions will emerge.

The group will learn from the best research evidence and workplace practices including:

• Positive mental health as a core business objective

• Removing the stigma of mental illness

• Creating workplace cultures that support mental well-being

• Working smarter, not work intensification

• People-centred change

• Leaders and managers as champions of positive mental health

Discount for registration by 8 May, you will also receive a further discount if you your organisation is a Charter signatory. Visit

The Workplace Stress Summit

This is a free online conference on work-related stress, June 15th (replay on 19th).Workplace stress is growing exponentially, with over 11 million days lost to anxiety last year in the UK, and consequent impacts on wellbeing and productivity…and this may be the tip of the iceberg when we also include presenteeism and unreported mental health issues. If you’re an HR/wellbeing manager or advisor, or a senior executive with an eye on maintaining a healthy workforce, this online summit provides the opportunity to:

  • Get an update on current issues, research, legislation, and stress reduction strategies
  • Hear from, and connect with, UK thought leaders and practitioners
  • Feel more confident to take action in your own workplace or to advise others

Organised by Mindful Work, the summit will comprise 15-20 interviews or presentations by some of the UK’s leading experts, including MINDFUL EMPLOYER, with an introduction by Professor Sir Cary Cooper.

Register for a free summit pass for 15th or 19th June at:
